Transport subsidy
Franka is governor on the transport subsidy, with 9543 votes. The term ends Sunday 11 October 2026.
Who holds the office
Franka's slogan is Good Lagos ahead. The policy in force is transport, and that policy halves danfo and keke fares while it stays active. The move page still lets you turn the subsidy switch off so you can see the bare fare. The office is simply quiet.
The current term ends Sunday 11 October 2026 at 19:00 GMT. The next election is term 2 and closes at that same moment. Sign up to run for Governor if you want your name on that ballot. The run fee on every policy is 50000 naira. The candidate list currently holds 1198 names. Each of those names brings a slogan into the race.
The five policies you can run on
Transport is the policy in force, and every run fee is 50000.
| Policy | Effect | Run fee |
|---|---|---|
| Transport subsidy | Danfo and keke fares are half price | 50000 |
| Minimum wage raise | Everyone earns 15% more per shift | 50000 |
| Owambe season | Fun at places around Lagos is 30% stronger | 50000 |
| Food subsidy | Groceries and food are 30% cheaper | 50000 |
| Steady light | NEPA cuts are shorter and rarer | 50000 |
Player questions
- Does Franka's subsidy apply to every ride?
- No. The transport effect is specific. Danfo and keke fares are half price. Okada, cab, trek, and your car sit outside the transport policy. Trek is already free. Your car depends on the vehicle rate you type. The calculator applies the half only when the subsidy switch is on and the mode is danfo or keke, so the half is the policy, not a discount on the whole street.
- How do I run, and what does it cost?
- Sign up to run for Governor. The election is term 2 and closes Sunday 11 October 2026 at 19:00 GMT, the same moment Franka's term ends. Choosing a policy costs 50000 naira, and that fee is the same for transport, wages, owambe, food, and steady light. The ballot already lists 1198 candidates. Your slogan is your own. Votes are cast inside the game, where the 1198 names wait for the count.
- Why are there three different vote totals?
- They are three ledgers, not one ranking. 9543 is the count stored for the sitting governor. The vote counts on the 1198 candidate rows add up to 18172. A public tally for the same close reports 18217 and returns only four rows. Those four rows are a fragment of the ballot. They are not the 1198 names, and 18217 is not the 9543 on the office.
- Can I see which policy a candidate filed on?
- No. A candidate row keeps a slogan and a vote count. It does not keep the policy attached at filing. You cannot scan the list and learn who paid to run on food, wages, owambe, or steady light. The price to attach any one policy is still 50000 naira, and the row that remains is the slogan, not the effect line from the table.
- Do the empty rows still count?
- On 5 October 2026, 904 of the 1198 rows showed a vote count of zero. Zero does not drop the name. It means that slogan had not received a vote. The largest count on any one candidate row was 10112. That number is one filing. It does not replace the office total, and it is not the public tally.
- Is there a governor announcement?
- No announcement is posted on the office. The slogan Good Lagos ahead is the line that sits with Franka, and the announcement slot is empty. Governor is a game feature: an announcement can be removed, and a governor who breaks the rules can be removed as well. Until that happens, the office is Franka on the transport policy.
- Can I get the run fee back?
- The run fee is in-game naira. In-game naira has no cash value outside Lagos Life. It cannot be sold, cashed out, or transferred off the game, and a wallet top-up does not lower the 50000. Paying the fee files the name. It does not buy a vote, and it does not change which policy is in force.
- What time does the term actually end in Lagos?
- Term id 1 and the term 2 election share one close, Sunday 11 October 2026 at 19:00 GMT. Lagos runs one hour ahead, so that instant is 8:00pm locally. After the close, the office and the ballot both belong to the next term. Until that hour, Franka is still the governor and the 1198 names are the filed field.
- Does the subsidy switch start on?
- No. The fare calculator opens with the subsidy switch off, so the first result is the bare ride. Turn the subsidy on and danfo and keke drop to half, which is the transport policy already in office. Okada, a cab, trek, and your own car do not take that half. Trek costs no naira. A car bills half of the raw per-kilometre rate you type, and a chauffeured rate of 0 stays free. Fuel scarcity is a separate 1.5 switch. It is not a governor policy. Rounding to the nearest 50 naira happens before the wealth table.
- Is the four-row tally the ballot?
- No. The public tally for this close totals 18217 and contains four rows. The election list is 1198 rows. A four-row cut is not the field you would be joining, and it is not a finished result. Read 9543 as the office count for the sitting governor, read 18172 as the candidate rows added together, and read 18217 as that separate tally. Compare any single filing inside the game, where the long list actually lives.
